The Bucks have continued to look one of the strongest outfits in the Eastern Conference despite some recent wobbles: they succumbed to the Charlotte Hornets (when missing all five of their regular starters) but bounced back in style by trouncing the Orlando Magic 124-87.
That game saw Khris Middleton make up for absence of star man Giannis Antetokounmpo, as he scored 21 points to move past 1,000 in his NBA career. “He’s the ultimate professional, so consistent, a great scorer and he does it in a lot of different ways,” Milwaukee coach Mike Budenholzer said of Middleton. “I think, at the same time, he’s a great leader. He’s really taken on a more impactful leadership role. The scoring and the 3s, everybody sees, but I like how he’s taken on leadership.”

The Grizzlies have been a mid-table team in the Western Conference, working hard to ensure they can get into the Playoffs next month. Memphis appeared to be building some real momentum, but a couple of losses to the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers in recent days has put a damper on their rising optimism.
