The
2022/2023 MTN Super League champions, Power Dynamos, have returned to form with back-to-back victories over FC MUZA and Kabwe Warriors, taking them to second place on the log standing.
Aba Yellow hosted Kabwe Warriors on Sunday in a Week Nine fixture at their home ground, Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe. Coming into this match, Power Dynamos were buoyed by their recent win over FC MUZA in Mazabuka, while Kabwe Warriors entered as the league's only unbeaten team.
The Kitwe giants took an early lead in the 6th minute through a header from Prince Mumba, igniting celebrations among the home fans. Their lead doubled in the 27th minute when Warriors captain Field Kandela inadvertently turned a Moses Phiri pass into his own net.
Kabwe Warriors unbeaten run was ended in Kitwe after eight games taking them to sixth position with thirteen points. They have won three, drawn four and lost one.
After a challenging start to the season, Power Dynamos appear to have regained their momentum. Head Coach expressed pride in his team’s performance, saying:
“The boys played very well, and I am proud of them. No team is easy to beat, and there’s no easy game. Our goal is to keep building on this momentum and continue winning. Now, we need to push for the top spot.”
In Week Ten, Power Dynamos will travel to Lumwana to face Lumwana Radiants while Warriors will host Red Arrows on 30
th October in a rescheduled week four fixture at Railway Stadium.
