2018/19 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE
Crystal Palace VS Manchester City
Super Sunday
April 14th Selhurst Park
Whilst the
Premier League trophy may not be heading for London come the end of the season, the English capital could yet play a pivotal role though in determining where the title will eventually settle. All eyes will be glued to screens on Super Sunday as the contenders for the crown – Manchester City and Liverpool – face tricky tests of the credentials.
The current leaders head to Crystal Palace – one of only four teams to have beaten the Citizens domestically all campaign – while chasers Liverpool welcome Chelsea to Anfield in the late game looking to avoid any major slip-ups.
The Eagles were the first visitors to Tottenham Hotspur’s new home last week and they bounced back from a 2-0 defeat that evening by beating Newcastle United 1-0 at St James Park on Saturday – their first away win in five in all competitions since beating Burnley last month. Luka Milivojevic scored from the penalty spot as he reached double figures for the second successive season.
Crystal Palace recent results:
06/04 – Newcastle 0-1 C. Palace
03/04 – Tottenham 2-0 C. Palace
30/03 – C. Palace 2-0 Huddersfield
Man City, like Palace, were beaten on their first trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as they succumbed to 1-0 loss in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final – their first defeat in 16 matches since the end of January. Pep Guardiola’s side will have the chance to reclaim top-spot in the Premier League on Sunday, as they kick-off earlier than the current leaders Liverpool, who have played a game more.
Manchester City recent results:
09/04 – Tottenham 1-0 Man City (UCL)
06/04 – Man City 1-0 Brighton (FAC)
03/04 – Man City 2-0 Cardiff
Roy Hodgson’s side will be hoping to repeat their historic feat as they did by beating City away from home for the first time in 28 years when the pair last faced, back in December.

Selhurst Park has not seen a victory over City in any of their last four matches played there between them. Since their last league win at home over City in April 2015 – the Sky Blues have scored 28 goals in the 9 league matches played at an average of 3.1 goals per game.
The home side ended a three-match losing run to the Citizens in the corresponding fixture last season, as the pair played out to goalless stalemate.
Raheem Sterling, one of the standout players for City this season, will be eager to add to his impressive tally of 4 goals and 2 assists in just 9 appearances against Palace.
