Known as two clubs looking to make a serious challenge against the biggest clubs in the Premier League, Newcastle and Brighton will set up a tasty 5th Round FA Cup tie at St.James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Magpies were made to work for their place in the 5th Round of the FA Cup following a 3-2 win against Birmingham at St.Andrew’s on the 8th of February.

With the score level at 2-2 until the 82nd minute mark, Joe Willock completed his brace and put Newcastle ahead in dramatic fashion and kept his side within a chance of claiming silverware this season.

Brighton faced Premier League opposition in their latest FA Cup assignment and claimed a 2-1 win over Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea at the Falmer Stadium earlier this month. Brighton were forced to hit the reset button after Bart Verbruggen’s own goal in the 5th minute. However, efforts in either half by Georginio Rutter and Kaoru Mitoma was enough for Brighton to advance to the next stage of the popular competition.

Speaking on his side’s recent 4-3 win against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, Newcastle mentor expressed that fans have seen the best and worst of his side this season.

“It was a crazy game. You’ve seen the best of us and the worst of us. It feels like we lost the game, even though we won it,” Howe said.

Elsewhere, Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler believes that setting high standards for his side can only bode well in their trophy aspirations going forward.

"We have set our standards high, so it is about challenging ourselves, improving and playing more intense. It's not about outplaying the opponent. Chelsea are a good side - they have proved it before and they will prove it again,” Hurzeler exclaimed.
