The 2019 Sony Open in Hawaii will be held at the Waialae Country Club on the island of Oahu between 10 and 13 January.
This golf tournament will mark the 21st anniversary of Sony's title sponsorship of the event.
American golfer Patton Kizzire parred the sixth playoff hole to capture the 2018 title after his countryman James Hahn lipped out an 8-foot par putt.
This year's field is headlined by Jordan Spieth, Patton Kizzire and other players, who competed at the recent Tournament of Champions.
American star Spieth, who is one of the favourites to win this year's competition, is a three-time major winner and the 2015 FedEx Cup champion.
Legendary South African golfer Ernie Els has won Sony Open title twice between 2003 and 2004.
Since then American golfers have dominated the tournament - winning 10 of the last 13 titles.
The other three titles were won by Fiji's Vijay Singh, South Korean golfer K.J Choi and Fabian Gomez of Argentina.
The 2019 Sony Open purse is $6,200,000, while the winner's share is $1,116,000.
