2021/22 English Premier League
Matchday 34
Burnley v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Turf Moor
Burnley, England
Sunday, 24 April 2022
Kick-off is at 15h00
Burnley will look to continue their uphill battle for
Premier League survival when Wolves visit Turf Moor on Sunday, April 24.
The Clarets made the difficult decision to sack Sean Dyche as manager last week, which brought to an end his almost decade-long tenure at the club.
The board pulled the trigger in the wake of a 2-0 defeat to rock-bottom Norwich on April 10 and caretaker manager Mike Jackson oversaw a 1-1 draw with West Ham at the London Stadium over the Easter weekend.
The Lancashire outfit remain in 18th place, three points adrift of safety, having played one game more than Everton directly above them going into the midweek clash with Southampton.
Under-23's manager Jackson reflected on the point that has given him something to build on for their final seven fixtures of the campaign.
"Only time will tell [as to whether it is], but I think that it's a good point with everything that's gone on including with Ash [Ashley Westwood] in the first half. It's a point that we'll take," he said.
"West Ham are a good side and I think coming here, some people probably wrote us off but it's a good point for the group and it's one that brings them together giving them something to keep fighting for.
"We've got two more games this week, we'll take the positives from this and go again. There's stuff for us to build on."
Bruno Lage's side suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss at Newcastle last weekend to dash their slender hopes of finishing in the top four.

Wolves are now eight points behind Tottenham in eighth position and Lage has called on his players to keep grafting as they go in search of a first win against Burnley since September 2018.
"Sometimes we lose the chance and if you look at that moment, they win the ball, two passes and they are inside of our box," he said. "It's frustrating but we need to continue to work, that's our mentality, every time to try to learn and improve.
"Credit for Newcastle, they did a good game, they took their chance and win, but for us we continue to work. Now we have some days off because we don't have a game next week and after we come again with the same mentality to play against Burnley."
