Akshay Bhatia will be hoping to become the first golfer to win back-to-back
Valero Texas Open titles since Zach Johnson won the trophy in 2008 and 2009.
What to know about Bhatia
The American starlet turned professional in September 2019 after competing in the 2019 Walker Cup, and made his professional debut at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Bhatia has so far won six professional tournaments, including two PGA Tour events and the 2022 The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic, which is part of the Korn Ferry Tour.

Bhatia has been inactive since he participated in 2025 The Players Championship, where he managed to secure a top-five finish as he finished third.
The 23-year-old finds himself placed 22nd on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and his best overall ranking is 21.

Bhatia will be returning to the TPC San Antonio (Oaks Course), where he won the 2024 Valero Texas Open in a playoff over Denny McCarthy.
The promising golfer has been playing some of his best golf in the last few months, securing top 10 finishes at the Genesis Invitational, Mexico Open, and The Players Championship.
