2022/23 English Premier League
Matchday 4
Chelsea v Leicester City
Stamford Bridge
London, England
Saturday, 27 August 2022
Kick-off is at 16h00
Chelsea will target a return to winning ways in the
Premier League when they welcome struggling Leicester to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, August 27.
The Blues suffered a shock 3-0 defeat to Leeds at Elland Road on Sunday and to make matters worse, new signing Kalidou Koulibaly was sent off six minutes from time for two bookable offences.
Thomas Tuchel's side had started the new campaign with a 1-0 win over Everton on Merseyside before playing out to a 2-2 draw with London rivals Tottenham, for whom Harry Kane scored a dramatic late equaliser.
That puts the west Londoners on four points and sees them occupy 12th place, five adrift of league leaders Arsenal, who are the only remaining team in the top flight with a 100 per cent record.

Tuchel blamed the defeat in West Yorkshire on a lack of discipline in the opening 20 minutes, which could have seen the visitors take control of the game but instead they allowed the Whites to grow in belief.
"I think we lost it in the first 20 minutes. We created enough chances and half chances to be 1-0 or 2-0 up and then we lost the discipline, we lost the repetition in doing what we wanted to do and what we did okay in the first 20 minutes," the German said.

"Instead of 2-0 to us it became an even match, we gave two goals away, two cheap and unnecessary goals. Then the game is almost done because you lift their spirit and their belief."
The Foxes have endured a difficult start to the season, picking up just one point from their opening three matches.
Brendan Rodgers' troops squandered the lead at the King Power Stadium on Saturday to lose 2-1 to Southampton, their second defeat on the spin and a third game without victory.

The players left to pitch to boos from around the ground at the full-time whistle and Rodgers sympathises with the club's supporters amid the uncertainty surrounding the futures of several first-team players.
"It's a challenging time, there's no doubt about that," the Ulsterman told Sky Sports.
"From where the club has been over the last few years, been up there challenging the top four and winning trophies, and of course supporters they look at the club over a course of the summer and they get excited by having new signings and seeing them develop and seeing us push on.
"We haven't been able to do that. So, the atmosphere, it is difficult, and I totally understand it from the supporters because they want to see us continually push on."
"Obviously, the players, they themselves would like to have that competition in the squad as well, but at the moment, my concentration is purely on the players that are here - and the players that are here are fully committed to helping the team gain results."
