However, the Red Devils bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Scottish heavyweights Rangers on 28 July before securing a 2-1 win over English rivals Arsenal on 28 July.
United then emerged a 3-2 winners over Spanish side Real Betis on 1 August before wrapping up their USA Tour with a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on 4 August.
Latest news

Another defender, Harry Maguire, was not included in the Devils Reds’ matchday squad for the contest as a precaution.
However, Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro will miss the Community Shield due to long-term injuries.
Why Man United could win the Community Shield
United will have the psychological edge over Manchester City as their last meeting ended in a 2-1 victory in favour of the Red Devils in the FA Cup final on 25 May.
Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, who scored in the FA Cup final, are fit and available, and they will be confident of tormenting City once again.
Quotes
“Yes, otherwise we wouldn't play with him [Sancho] there. That is what we can do if we don't have the availability of Rasmus," United manager Erik ten Hag said about the possibility of Jadon Sancho starting as a striker against Manchester City.
“But of course, Joshua Zirkzee, he is coming in, he has started training, but also consider that he is not so long in training, so that will take time, and he has to adapt to English football and our way of playing as well.
“But there is also, of course, Jadon, as a striker. We know he can play in wide areas, but also as a false striker, he's an option. I think that Marcus [Rashford] has done it before and he can do it, and it's definitely an option."
