The Blues head into back-to-back home games versus Aston Villa and City following a surprise 3-1 loss away to Arsenal. Manager Frank Lampard lamented his side's performance at Emirates Stadium as they fell to a third straight defeat on the road.
"We fought ... but in the first half we gave ourselves too much to do... I'll take responsibility on the outside but the players also have to take responsibility," Lampard said.
"The message was clear, Arsenal are a dangerous team. When you go out and play 60% or 70% then you're not going to win any Premier League games."
City travel to Merseyside to take on Everton before setting their sights on Chelsea as they aim to build on their good run of form. While the Cityzens' defence remains resolute, they have yet to hit top form in front of goal and manager Pep Guardiola believes that they will only start scoring more goals if their performances improve.
"Our game has to come back because the goals don't come as a present from Santa Claus. They come from our performances," Guardiola said.
"There is no doubt about our mentality. We have to refresh our philosophy and there are things to readjust.
"The challenge right now is to score more goals and we will improve our level game by game."

Goals from Christian Pulisic and Willian spearheaded Chelsea to a 2-1 win over City in the corresponding fixture last season, in a match in which Fernandinho received his marching orders. The result in London followed a 2-1 win for City at Etihad Stadium with goals from Kevin de Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez leading the hosts to victory.
