The Cottagers fell to a 2-0 defeat away to Manchester City last time out to remain in 17th spot on the league standings, a point above the relegation zone. Despite the loss, manager Scott Parker believes his team can take confidence from how they played at Etihad Stadium.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the match, Parker said: “If you lose matches, you’re obviously disappointed. I see a team that had some fight. I really liked what we were about in the second half.
“There’s no shame in losing to a quality side. I asked for spirit and personality and I thought we had that. The first half was tough. We changed it in the second half to try to get the ball in the right areas.
“The performances this week will stand us in very good stead. The first few games we weren’t in the contest and since then we’ve been right in them. Today was another big performance. We’ll keep building," he concluded.
It doesn't get any easier for Fulham as they prepare to welcome the defending champions to Craven Cottage this coming weekend. The Reds head to London level on 24 points with leaders Tottenham Hotspur and on the back of a 4-0 win over Wolves in which Liverpool welcomed fans back to Anfield for the first time.
"The game, the atmosphere, it was so nice I had goosebumps," an emotional Jurgen Klopp told the BBC. "They started 'You'll Never Walk Alone' – really nice. I never knew it could feel that good.
"This started in February and we were waiting to get normality back. Normality is good – I don't think we appreciated it as much. It was very, very touching."

This will be the first league meeting between the two clubs since March 2019 when a late James Milner penalty secured a 2-1 win for the visitors. Sadio Mane had opened the scoring before a goal from Ryan Babel for Fulham, who were subsequently relegated a few months later before winning promotion back to the Premier League last season.
