FC Barcelona will face off with Elche CF in a Spanish

"We have not been able to dominate the game in the final minutes. It required having the ball in the opposite end of the pitch," Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez said after their clash with Osasuna.
"We have a very big problem with this. It is time to keep the ball to defend. "Yes, we have to change the dynamics, but we have not been able to. It is a hard reality. It is not due to attitude or desire.
"It is 20, 25 minutes that we should have been in the opposite half. Control the game. We need this type of footballers".

Meanwhile, Elche suffered a 2-1 defeat to Valencia CF away in their previous league game which was played on December 11.
As a result, the defeat ended the Green Striped Ones' two-match unbeaten run in this competition came to an end having recorded one draw and one win.
The Green Striped Ones are also winless in their last seven matches in this competition having recorded two draws and five defeats on the road.
The last league meeting between Barcelona and Elche was on 24 February 2021.
Barcelona proved too strong for Elche as they claimed a 3-0 win in a one-sided match which was played at Camp Nou.
