Chelsea will look to boos their home form in the
Premier League with a win over Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 11 January 2020, kick-off at 17:00. The match is one of 10 spread across the weekend of 10-12 January for Round 22 of the current English top-flight season.
Chelsea’s last Premier League outing ended in a 1-1 draw at Brighton & Hove Slbion, while in the FA Cup this past weekend they defeated Nottingham Forest to secure progression into the next round.
Winger Callum Hudson-Odoi was particularly impressive against the Reds and manager Frank Lampard believes there is more to come from the youngster: “I was pleased to see him high up the pitch, it was a great goal. It has been an interesting 12 months for him. He has come back, but when he did there were issues to get him tip top. This was a nice step forward for him.”

Burnley come into the game on the back of an FA Cup win over Peterborough, though their Premier League form is wretched: a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa was their third straight defeat, and a sixth from the last eight games.
“It was a good performance,” said manager Sean Dyche, who will want further improvement when his side heads to Stamford Bridge. “We dealt with a lot of it, they earned two goals from possible mistakes from us. It was a professional performance and a confident one.”
In head-to-head terms, Chelsea and Burnley have met in 76 previous matches. The Clarets have claimed 34 wins compared to 26 for the Blues, while 16 games have been drawn.
When the teams met in the Premier League earlier this season, at Turf Moor in October 2019, Chelsea claimed a thrilling 4-2 win thanks in the main to a hat-trick from American winger Christian Pulisic.
