The New Orleans Pelicans will go head to head with the Brooklyn Nets in the National Basketball Association (NBA) match on January 7.
This will be the 44th meeting between the two teams since 2002 when the Pelicans were established just before the 2002–03 season.
The Nets have the edge in this rivalry, having recorded 22 victories compared to the Pelicans' 21 wins.

Their last meeting was on 20 October 2022 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, USA as the Pelicans emerged victorious.
Zion Williamson returned from a one-year absence with 25 points and nine rebounds, powering the Pelicans to a season-opening 130-108 rout of the Nets.
The Pelicans find themselves placed second on the Western Conference standings, having recorded 21 victories and 12 defeats from 33 matches.
Meanwhile, the Nets are sitting third on the Eastern Conference standings, having registered 22 wins and 12 defeats from 34 games.
The short-handed Pelicans extended their winning streak to three games by beating the Indiana Pacers 113-93 on Tuesday morning, December 27.
''That's what it's about for us,'' Pelicans head coach Willie Green said of his team's defensive effort.
''The first day I got here I talked about working and continuing to build a foundation defensively because it's sustainable.
"Our offence can come and go. We didn't shoot the ball great tonight, but we defended and got stops. So far we are doing a great job of that.''
