2023 Tour de France
UCI World Tour
Stage race (Grand Tour)
From Spain to France
1–23 July 2023
Tadej Pogačar will be eager to win the
Tour de France for the third time and he is one of the favourites to win the 2023 event.
What to know about Pogačar
The UAE Team Emirates cyclist won the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Tour de France as he established himself as one of the best cyclists in the world.
Pogačar was very dominant as he won three different jerseys during each Tour, a feat unseen in nearly four decades.
He became the youngest cyclist to win a UCI World Tour race with the Tour of California win at the age of 20 in 2019.
Why Pogačar is among the favourites
The 24-year-old won stage six of the 2023 Tour de France from Tarbes to Cauterets-Cambasque.
Pogačar beat his main rival Jonas Vingegaard of Jumbo Visma to the finishing line - boosting his ambitions of winning the competition.
The Slovenian star is currently placed second on the General classification (Yellow Jersey) standings as he targets his third Tour de France win.
Quotes
"We will see in the Alps who it suits better. I also like the Alps stages," Pogačar said ahead of stage 10 of the 2023 Tour de France.
"I think every year I improve on the longer climbs and in the heat so we need to wait and see who will like it more."
"I'm not at all worried about the last week. I actually should be better than in the first week."
