Jason Day will be keen to become the third Australian golfer to win the John Deere Classic after John Senden (2006) and Mark Hensby (2004).
What to know about Day
Upon arriving in the US from Australia as a 19-year-old, Day played his first PGA Tour event at the 2006 John Deere Classic, where he received a sponsor exemption and made the cut.
The most recent of Day’s 13 PGA Tour wins came at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson and won the 2015 PGA Championship and the 2016 Players Championship.

The man nicknamed J.D. took a break from professional golf after competing in the 2024 Travelers Championship where he finished 44th.
J.D. is currently placed 28th in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and he achieved the number one ranking in 2015.
Why Day is among the favourites
Day's best performance in the current 2024 PGA Tour season came at the Wells Fargo Championship in North Carolina where he finished fourth.
The 2016 Mark H. McCormack Award winner will be determined to record his victory of the season this weekend by clinching the John Deere Classic.
