2021/22 English Premier League

Matchday 29

Arsenal v Leicester City

Emirates Stadium
London, England
Sunday, 13 March 2022
Kick-off is at 18h30

Arsenal will be looking to keep the momentum going when they entertain Leicester in a Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, March 13.

Mikel Arteta's side ran out 3-2 victors over Watford at Vicarage Road last Sunday to leapfrog Manchester United into fourth place.

It was the Gunners' fourth win on the spin and extended their unbeaten run in the league to five outings since losing 2-1 to Manchester City on New Year's Day.

Arteta stressed that the table doesn't mean much at this stage due to the disparity in games played between the the top-seven teams and insists he remains focused on taking it one game at a time in the race for a top-four finish.

"To be fair, I don't like to look at the table a lot because we have games in hand, we're going to play different fixtures and I know the objective and it's only one, to try and improve tomorrow on what we've done today and go into the next match and that's it," the Spaniard said.

"I cannot control results and I cannot predict which matches we are going to win, draw or lose, it's impossible. If I start to do that I think we're going to lose focus in what we want to do."

The Foxes are hoping to have turned the corner after a poor start to 2022, where they went five matches without a win before recording back-to-back victories against Burnley and Leeds.

The East Midlands outfit occupy 12th spot and are tied on 33 points with 10th-placed Crystal Palace, along with two other clubs.

Brendan Rodgers admits he had to adapt to the Whites' new tactical approach under Jesse Marsch, with a tweak at half-time paying off as Harvey Barnes secured a 1-0 win in the 67th minute.

"We knew the principles of the game would be pretty much the same. They would want to press, they would want to run and play forward," Rodgers said.

"I think that side of it was not a surprise. In the first half, they played more with the wingers on the inside, then normally with Marcelo [Bielsa], they would play on the outside.

"That meant we were overloaded when we were pressing the game on the inside, so we had to try and adjust that in the second half and it was better for us."
