What to know about Burns
The American star has won six professional tournaments since he turned professional in October 2017 as he debuted in the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Burns, who was named AJGA Rolex Junior Player of the Year in 2014, has won five PGA Tour events including two Valspar Championship titles.

Burns was in action at the recent 2024 Players Championship where he finished 45th as he continues to search for his first win of the 2024 PGA Tour season.
The Shreveport-born golfer is still in the top 20 on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) as he is placed 19th coming into the Valspar Championship.
Why Burns is one of the favourites
Burns tends to bring his A-game whenever he competes in the Valspar Championship having won the tournament twice in 2021 and 2022.
The 27-year-old was crowned 2021 champion after he shot a final round 68 to win by three strokes over Keegan Bradley before successfully retaining his title in 2022 - beating Davis Riley in a playoff.

“A lot of times on Sunday if you can plot your way around, make a bunch of pars, throw in a few birdies here and there a lot of times it works well," Burns said after winning the 2022 Valspar Championship.
“The thing about last year is it has nothing to do with this year. So many things are different. There’s not much correlation between the two.”
