Francesco Molinari will be seeking more success at the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm when he competes in the 2022
Wells Fargo Championship.
The Italian star won the 2018 Quicken Loans tournament at the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm and did so in a dominating fashion by shooting a 62 on Sunday to win by eight strokes.
It was the first PGA Tour win for an Italian since 1947 and he is currently ranked 203rd in the Official World Golf Ranking and he was once ranked fifth in the world.
Molinari, who represented Europe in three winning Ryder Cup teams in 2010, 2012 and 2018, has since won two more PGA Tour events.
At the 2018 Open Championship, the Turin-born golfer won the tournament with a score of −8, pairing with Tiger Woods in the final round.
Molinari then won the 2019 Arnold Palmer Invitational for his third PGA Tour victory of his career as he shot a final-round 64 that ended up giving him a two-stroke win over Matt Fitzpatrick,
The 2018 European Tour Golfer of the Year will be making his fifth start in the Wells Fargo Championship and he will be keen to end his three-year trophy drought on the PGA Tour.

Henrik Stenson, who is the captain of the 2023 European Ryder Cup Team, recently stated that he will be watching Molinari's performances ahead of next year's Ryder Cup.
"Francesco Molinari was the best player at the Paris Ryder Cup in 2018, proving decisive until the end," Stenson said.
"But he won't be the only Italian player I will follow in view of the 2023 event in Rome. I intend to monitor all the tournaments that the Italians are involved in along with the other European players."
Rory McIlroy is the most decorated golfer in the history of the Wells Fargo Championship having won the tournament a record three times.
