Patrick Cantlay will be among the favourites to clinch the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship and record his maiden win of the 2022-23 PGA Tour season.
What to know about Cantlay
The American star has won eight times on the PGA Tour as well as the 2021 FedEx Cup and he is currently placed fourth on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).
Cantlay came close to winning his first golf major in 2019 when he finished third behind his compatriots Dustin Johnson and champion Brooks Koepka.

The 31-year-old took a break from professional golf after finishing third at month's 2023 RBC Heritage and despite his strong result, much of the media coverage focused on his slow pace of play.
Cantlay also performed well at the 2023 Genesis Invitational in February and the California-born golfer ended up finishing third.
Why Cantlay is among the favourites
Placed fourth on the OWGR, Cantlay is the second-highest ranked player in the field at this year's Wells Fargo Championship behind Rory McIlroy.
The 2021 PGA Tour Player of the Year will view this tournament as his best chance to win his maiden PGA Tour event and move up on the OWGR.
