Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton will be hoping to win the Brazilian Grand Prix title for the third time in his career on November 14.

The British superstar produced one of his worst performances in recent years at the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix as he finished seventh.

Hamilton has now finished second in the last two races in the 2021 Formula One season which are the United States Grand Prix and Mexican Grand Prix.

The Brazilian Grand Prix was won by Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing-Honda with his teammate Sergio Perez finishing third.

Verstappen is placed at the top of this year's Drivers' Championship standings as he beat Hamilton to the 2021 Formula One world title.

Hamilton, who is the current Formula One world champion, is placed second on the standings, while his teammate Valtteri Bottas is placed third on the table.

The accomplished driver will be determined to clinch the Brazilian Grand Prix in order to keep his hopes of retaining the world championship alive.

"First, congratulations to Max. That car was faster than we were this weekend and there's nothing we could really do about it," Hamilton said.

"I gave it absolutely everything and obviously a great fight with Sergio at the end but I'm grateful I could still at least get a second-place finish. It was easy enough to hold on - I've been in that situation many times before.

"But it shows how fast their car was when Sergio was that close behind me and able to follow that closely. He did a great job! Even so, I really enjoyed the race and got everything out of it that we could today," he continued.

"Now we need to get our heads down and keep working hard to prepare for the next races, they will be coming at us fast over the next two weekends."

Mercedes are placed at the top of the Constructors' Championship standings and they are followed by Red Bull Racing-Honda and Ferrari respectively.
