The group stage of the
2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan will begin winding down at the end of the coming weekend and into early next week, with the likes of New Zealand, South Africa and Wales looking toward the knockout phase.
The All Blacks, fresh from their win over Canada in Pool B on October 2, will have just a four-day turnaround before tacking Namibia in Tokyo early on Sunday morning. New Zealand will likely field a weakened line-up to keep key players fresh for next weekend’s clash with Italy and the knockout games which will follow.

Staying in Pool B, South Africa will also have to endure a mere four-day break between their important clash with Italy on Friday 4 October in Fukuroi and their clash with Canada in Kobe on Tuesday 8 October. Coach Rasssie Erasmus is sure to ring the changes for what will be the Springboks’ last group stage clash.
Other key games in the first half of next week include Tonga looking to upset France in a Pool C match in Kumamoto, Argentina have a must-win clash in the same group when they tackle United States in Kumagaya, Scotland will back themselves to beat Russia in Fukuroi, and Wales will be wary of a wounded Fiji for their match in Oita.
