Charles Leclerc will be determined to end his six-race winless run when he participates in the Japanese Grand Prix.

The Ferrari driver missed out on a podium spot in the last Japanese Grand Prix which took place in 2019 as he finished sixth having started second on the grid.

Leclerc was unlucky not to win the most recent race this term which was the Singapore Grand Prix on October 2 - finishing second.

In the closing laps of the race, the 24-year-old had some problems with the front tyres which saw him drop to seven seconds behind the leader Sergio Perez.

Perez of Red Bull Racing-RBPT went on to win the Singapore Grand Prix with Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz Jr finishing third in an enthralling race.

Red Bull Racing-RBPT driver Max Verstappen is still sitting pretty at the top of the 2022 Drivers' Championship standings with Perez placed third on the table.

Leclerc is currently placed second on the standings and he will move closer to Verstappen if wins the Japanese Grand Prix while also pulling away from Perez in the process.

"Our pace was really good today so it's a shame to finish second. We had some wheel spin at the start and didn't get away as well as Checo (Perez)," Leclerc said after the Singapore Grand Prix.

'That put us on the back foot. I pushed to put pressure on Checo but my front tyres got a bit too warm and he started pulling away.

"As I've already said, I want to use these last races to improve our execution of races and I think that we made a step in the right direction today."

Red Bull Racing-RBPT are placed at the top of the Constructors' Championship standings with 576 points and they are followed by Ferrari with 439 points and Mercedes with 373 points respectively.
