The Seagulls accumulated five points from their final three fixtures last season to move clear of relegation and claim a 15th place finish on the log standings. Brighton boss Graham Potter has been able to keep hold of the club's star players and brought in Adam Lallana and Joel Veltman to beef up his squad as the Seagulls aim to retain their top-flight status for another season.

Chelsea have been the most active in the transfer window of the Premier League clubs and will be a serious contenders for top honours this season. Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have bolstered an already talented Blues team that will be eager to make an early impression and improve on the fourth place finish they achieved last season.

“Finishing with a record points tally is probably the best demonstration of progress. If you keep raising the bar and beating the records that we have set it’s a good indication that there’s improvement being made," Brighton goalkeeper Mathew Ryan told the club's official website.
“We had to get used to a lot of changes with Chris Hughton leaving and Graham and his coaching staff coming in.
“That was a big hurdle and some teams haven’t been able to overcome that sort of obstacle in the past. So it’s a nice feeling having made those changes last year and, given the other challenges that we have faced like Covid-19, to have three successive years in the Premier League. Nobody can take away from us. It’s a feat we can all be proud of.”
