Lenovo Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia will look to build on his maiden win when the 2021 MotoGP World Championship heads to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix on Sunday 19 September.
‘Pecco’ had a thrilling battle with Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez at the Aragon Grand Prix this past weekend, with the pair overtaking each other several times in the dying laps before the 24-year-old Italian was able to take the chequered flag for his first premier-class race victory.

"It's a dream come true to get my first victory," Bagnaia, the eighth different winner of the season, said of his triumph. "It wasn't easy to stay in front of Marc. His body is not at 100 percent but I think today he was very competitive."
The win also took Bagnaia to second on the Riders’ Championship standings, now 53 points adrift of leader Fabio Quartararo, who could only manage an eighth-place finish in Aragon. Ecstar Suzuki's Joan Mir is in third place, just four points behind Bagnaia.

“It will not be easy to make a weekend like this, because not touching anything on the bike is incredible,” added Bagnaia. “For sure, after these two years in MotoGP and winning now in the factory team like this is a great emotion for me.”
The Italian, who will be looking for a strong showing on home soil, continued: “The pace was strong, and I think that all the times that I was competitive and fast and I lost the opportunity every time to win, today that gave to me an extra sweetness to win this race.”
