The
2023/24 UEFA Champions League group stage action will continue on 20 September with eight matches taking place across Europe.
Headliner
All eyes will be on the titanic encounter between former Champions League winners Bayern Munich and Manchester United at the Allianz Arena in Germany.
This will be the 12th meeting between the two teams in this competition with Bayern having the upper hand in this rivalry - recording four victories compared to United's two wins.
Their last meeting ended in a 3-1 win in favour of Bayern in a quarterfinal second-leg match during the 2013/14 season.
Quest 14th title
Real Madrid's quest for a record-extending 15th Champions League title will start with a match against tournament debutants, Union Berlin at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides and Madrid are the clear favourite to win this match due to their high-quality players and European pedigree.
The last time Madrid won this tournament was in 2022 and they are now looking to go all the way and clinch the trophy under their accomplished manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Redemption
Inter Milan will be seeking redemption this season after losing to Manchester City in last season's Champions League final - failing to win the title for the fourth time.
The Italian giants will start their group-stage campaign with a match against Real Sociedad at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza
This will be the first meeting between Inter and Sociedad in the Champions League with the latter making their return to the group stage for the first time since the 2013/14 season.
