Adam Scott will target a successful defence of his
Genesis Invitational title when the 2021 edition is held at the Riviera Country Club, Pacific Palisades, California from 18 to 21 February.
After earning an unofficial victory in
2005 at Riviera – a tournament cut short to only 36 holes due to weather – Scott made things official in
2020. A leaderboard packed at the top with names like McIlroy, Kuchar, Homa, DeChambeau and more, it was Scott who was able to best conquer the windy conditions and lightning-fast greens.

The 40-year-old Australian has said that he hopes to improve his consistency in 2021, though the brutal schedule which sees the PGA Tour trying to cram as many events as possible into a short period of time means he will pick and choose his battles.
“Like I said, I think you’ve got to identify that there’s probably 10 or 12 serious competition events during the calendar year and then the rest is a bit of entertainment, really,” explained Scott.
“But the thing for all of us and people trying to peak for those 10 or 12 serious events is they have got to use those entertainment events to get prepared and get ready. So it’s finding that balance of your schedule and also for the Tour’s schedule and what’s entertaining and how seriously it should be taken.”
Scott, who recently put in a solid if unspectacular performance to come home in tied 10th at the Farmers Insurance Open, is hoping to rack up tournament victories and build momentum for a crack at the majors.
“I would like to quickly get to 20 PGA Tour wins at this point,” he said. “I think that would be a nice little accomplishment for me and obviously winning another major and trying to do a Brooks or a Jordan or a Rory and win a few really quick. Because quick is important at this point.”
