Alex Albon will continue his fight to retain his Red Bull drive when the 2020 Formula One World Championship heads to Turkey for Round 14 at the Intercity Istanbul Park circuit on Sunday 15 November.

Albon has endured a tough first full season with RBR, being completely overshadowed by teammate Max Verstappen. So much so, that the Dutchman has accumulated 98 more points in the course of 13 races despite suffering four retirements compared to the Thai racer's one.

Albon managed only a 15th-place finish at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola earlier this month, a third successive race in which he has failed to put any points on the scoreboard.

With the likes of Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg being touted as potential Red Bull drivers for 2021, Albon needs to pull out a big result in Istanbul – and for the remainder of the season – if he is to keep his place at one of the sport's top teams.

"Of course I’m hanging in there, I’m doing everything I can," Albon said after Imola. "It was, in retrospect, not a bad weekend for me. But we’ll focus ahead on Turkey."

Team boss Christian Horner lamented his driver's shortfall: "It’s a difficult one for Alex because he was in that race with Charles [Leclerc] and Daniel [Ricciardo] all afternoon. Then at the restart fighting with Perez who was on new tyres, he just lost it at the second chicane. So hugely frustrating for him to come away with zero points and for the team as well."
