Tony Finau will be hoping to win the
2022 Mexico Open in order to boost his position on the Official World Golf Rankings.
Only Jon Rahm and Abraham Ancer are ranked higher than Finau among the players who will compete at this year's Mexico Open.
The American star has won three tournaments since turning professional as a 17-year-old in 2006 including two PGA Tour events.

The Arizona-based golfer clinched his maiden title on the PGA Tour at the 2016 Puerto Rico Open as he won in a sudden-death playoff over Steve Marino with a birdie on the third extra hole.
Finau then lifted the 2021 Northern Trust trophy as he ended more than five years and 142 tournaments without winning a PGA Tour tournament.
The 33-year-old did so with a dynamic charge on the back nine and a big miss from Cameron Smith to capture the rain-delayed Northern Trust in a playoff.
The current year has seen Finau finish 19th at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in January and he didn't do better than his T29 at the Valero Texas Open in early April.
The Salt Lake City-based golfer recently stated that he has had to be resilient as he looks to add to his two wins on the PGA Tour.
“Resiliency could be the most important thing, overcoming and adapting to obstacles, not only in golf but in life,” Finau said.
“That’s what it’s all about. No matter where I’ve been, you always feel like you can do better and overcome. That’s where resiliency comes in.
"It’s damn near the most important thing we deal with on tour.”
Al Espinosa is the most successful golfer in the history of the Mexico Open having won the tournament a record four times.
