Matchday 31
SS Lazio v Torino FC
Stadio Olimpico
Spezia, Italy
Saturday, 22 April 2023
Kick-off is at 18h00
SS Lazio will face off with a struggling Torino FC in an
Italian Serie A match at the Stadio Olimpico on April 22.
Current Form
The Eagles claimed a 3-0 win over Spezia Calcio away on April 14 as they extended their unbeaten run to eight matches in the league.
Lazio are also undefeated in their last three matches at home having recorded three consecutive wins at the Stadio Olimpico.
While Torino were held to a 1-1 draw by US Salernitana at home on April 16 and they are winless in four matches in the Serie A.
However, the Maroons are undefeated in their last two matches on the road having recorded one win and one draw as the away side.
What Is At Stake
Lazio are competing for a top two finish in the Serie A this season as they are placed second on the standings - 14 points behind log leaders, SSC Napoli.
Maurizio Sarri's side will cement their position in the second spot if they beat Torino who are a middle team.
Torino are placed 11th on the league standings and a win over Lazio would see the Maroons boost their ambitions of finishing in the top 10.
Team News
Matías Vecino and Ciro Immobile are on Lazio's injury-list while Danilo Cataldi will be missing as the defensive midfielder is suspended.
On the other hand, Lazio players David Zima, Ronaldo Vieira and Ola Aina are currently injured, but the club has no suspension worries.
Key Players
With Immobile an injury doubt, Mattia Zaccagni, who has scored 10 goals and provided five assists in the league this season, will have to step up and inspire Lazio to a win.
While Torino' top scorer in the current term is Antonio Sanabria who has nine league goals and the Paraguayan forward will be keen to propel his side to a win over Lazio.

Quotes
“The second goal was beautiful, but at a certain point I was worried because no one was shooting at goal," Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri said after their win over Spezia.
“I'm also happy for Marcos Antonio, who is a top player, I'm having a hard time fitting him into our midfield because we have very offensive characteristics and so at times we need physicality.
"But if anyone comes to watch the training sessions it's a spectacle when we play tight games. We've been aiming to become less cocky and less superficial for a long time," he added.
"The ability to stay on the ball in difficult moments has grown considerably, but in the first seven or eight minutes I was afraid that we took the game a bit too lightly."
Head-to-Head
Lazio and Torino drew 0-0 in their last meeting in the league which was on 20 August 2022 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
As a result, the Eagles are enjoying a seven-match unbeaten run in the league against Maroons having recorded four draws and three wins.
