Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers could meet in a dream final of the
2019/20 National Basketball Association (NBA) season.
The two most decorated teams in the history of the NBA are set to take part in the Conference finals between 18 and 24 September.
The rivalry between the Celtics and Lakers has been called the best rivalry in the NBA and they have met a record 12 times in the NBA finals, starting with their first Finals meeting in 1959.
The Celtics, who have won a record 17 championships, defeated Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors on their way to the Eastern Conference finals.

They are now set to take on Miami Heat in the Conference finals and the winner will progress to the NBA finals.
Antoine Walker, former Boston Celtics All-Star, would love to see the Celtics and Lakers meet in the NBA finals and he believes Marcus Smart would check LeBron James.
“I would love to see that. I was thinking about that game right before the pandemic where Jayson Tatum, I think he had 40. It was like one of those games," Walker said on the Heavy Live With Scoop B Show.
“He’s got a little height on Marcus, but Marcus Smart. I think he can be the one guy that I’d like to see on him. And I think that’s what makes the Celtics a good chance to play against them in the Finals.
"It would make a good matchup in the Finals because the Celtics have multiple bodies to go at him. You can put a Tatum on him, you can put a Jaylen Brown on him, Marcus Smart. One thing a lot of teams don’t have is a lot of bodies to put on LeBron and the Celtics do have that.”

Meanwhile, the Lakers are looking to clinch a record-equaling 17th NBA championship this season.
They have defeated Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets on their way to the Western Conference semi-finals.
The Lakers are awaiting the winner between Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers with the two teams competing in the Conference semi-final tie.
They are locked at 3-3 at the moment with the last match of the seven-game series scheduled to be played on September 15.
