London, England
Tuesday, 14 December 2021
Kick-off is at 21h30
Newly-promoted Brentford welcome Manchester United to the Brentford Community Stadium on 14 December in what will be the first-ever meeting between the two clubs in the
Premier League era.
The Bees haven't faced the Red Devils since 1975 when they clashed in the second round of the League Cup, where the hosts emerged 2-1 victors at Old Trafford.

The last time they squared up in the league was way back in 1947, with the Londoners securing a goalless draw at Griffin Park after United had triumphed 4-1 in the reverse fixture.
The first fixture involving the two teams saw United thrash Brentford 7-1 in the FA Cup third round in 1928, while they even locked horns on four occasions in the old Second Division, where the Bees won three of their four encounters.

Overall in their head-to-head meetings, United have recorded six wins to Brentford's five, with two games ending in draws.
Ralf Rangnick, who has replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager on an interim basis until the end of the season, is eager to help academy product Mason Greenwood develop into a top-class player at United.
"Technically, for his age, he is a great player and my job is to develop him and make an athlete out of him and, if he manages to do that, he can become a regular player for this club," Rangnick said.
Brentford head coach Thomas Frank is looking to follow in the footsteps of Wolves, Brighton and Burnley by establish the club in the Premier League.
"We have seen in recent years that a couple of teams have done well after they got promoted. Hopefully we are one of them that can continue doing that," Frank said.
"The difference between the top six in the Championship and the bottom 10 in the Premier League is not that big. Over the season it can escalate to a lot of points but over one game, the difference is very, very small. That is why everyone can compete."
