2021/22 Italian Serie A
Matchday 19
Empoli v AC Milan
Stadio Carlo Castellani
Empoli, Italy
Wednesday, 22 December 2021
Kick-off is at 21h45
AC Milan will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run against Empoli to three matches when they square off in a
Serie A clash at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on December 22.
The most recent encounter between the two teams saw the Rossoneri win 4-0 at the San Siro during the 2018/19 campaign after the reverse fixture had ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Azzurri registered a rare 2-1 victory over their more illustrious opponents in April 2017, but suffered relegation to Serie B the following month.
Milan have the upper hand in their last 10 head-to-head meetings with four wins as opposed to just two for Empoli.

Stefano Pioli admits the Rossoneri have needlessly complicated matters in recent games by committing costly errors, which is hopes to remedy in the weeks to come.
"Certainly in the last 4-5 goals conceded, our mistakes in the exit phase were too evident," Pioli said.
"These complicate already complicated matches against physical and difficult-to-face opponents. We will have to make fewer mistakes in our disengagement."

Empoli have enjoyed a good run of late, but Aurelio Andreazzoli has warned his players not to get carried away as avoiding relegation remains their target.
"We have a target: salvation. We have to rest assured," Andreazzoli said. "Let's enjoy it, but then we put petrol in the tank because there so many missing."
