Villarreal CF will square off with Rayo Vallecano in a Spanish
La Liga match at the Estadio de la Cerámica on December 12.
The Yellow Submarine succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Sevilla FC away in their previous league game which was played on December 4.
As a result, Villarreal are now winless in their three matches in this competition having registered two successive defeats and one draw.

The Yellow Submarine losto FC Barcelona in their last home game in La Liga on November 27 and the defeat ended their two-match unbeaten run as the hosts.
“I can’t berate the team for anything. Their attitude was positive, and they also executed the game plan we had prepared," Villarreal manager Unai Emery said after the defeat to Sevilla.
"Sevilla capitalized on one of their few chances by scoring. We got into the box more, we had more control and also more chances, but we lacked a cutting edge. That was key to today’s result.
"We had chances to equalise, but we didn’t take them. If it was the opening game of the season, we’d be calm, but it’s Matchday 16, and not getting a point here just adds to some of the other games we’ve had.”

Meanwhile, Vallecano secured a 1-0 win over Espanyol at home in their last league match which was played on December 5.
The victory extended Red Sashes' unbeaten run to three matches in this competition having recorded one draw and two wins.
However, Vallecano are winless in their last four matches on the road in La Liga having registered one draw and three successive defeats as the visitors.
The last meeting between Villarreal and Rayo in a league match was on 19 March 2019.
Villarreal emerged 3-1 winners over Vallecano in an encounter which was played at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
