The Los Angeles Lakers will lock horns with the Charlotte Hornets in the National Basketball Association (NBA) match on December 24.
This will be the 64th meeting between the two teams in regular-season games since the 1988/89 term which was the Hornets' first campaign in the NBA.
The Lakers have been dominant in this rivalry having registered 39 wins compared to the Hornets' 24 victories.

However, it was the Hornets who emerged victorious in their last meeting which was on 29 January 2022 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte in North Carolina, USA.
Miles Bridges had 26 points, the seldom-used Ish Smith provided a huge boost off the bench with 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting as the Hornets defeated the Lakers 117-114.
The Lakers are sitting in 12th place on the Western Conference standings having recorded 13 victories and 16 defeats from 29 games.
While the Hornets are placed 15th on the Eastern Conference standings having registered only seven wins and 23 defeats from 30 matches.

The Lakers defeated Washington Wizards 119-117 at Crypto.com Arena on Monday, December 19 and coach Darvin Ham provided an injury update.
Ham stated that several players, including rookies, would be counted on until Anthony Davis (footy injury) and Wenyen Gabriel (left shoulder) return.
“We will be getting Wenyen back here pretty soon," Ham said.
"So it's a soft plan that we can always pivot off of. We have some guys that we are very, very confident in and will mix and match them and see what happens.”
