The Los Angeles Clippers will be out to shoot down the Houston Rockets when the teams meet in an NBA Regular Season game at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California on the morning of Friday 18 February 2022. Tip-off is at 05:30.
The Clippers are in danger of falling completely out of Playoff contention in the Eastern Conference, though they have added Rodney Hood and Semi Ojeleye from Sacramento after sending Serge Ibaka to Milwaukee in a four-team trade. Norman Powell is also a new arrival, reuniting with former Toronto teammate Kawhi Leonard.

“Can’t really call stuff to run because they really haven’t been here long enough,” Tyronn Lue said of the newcomers. “But we’ll get that done. I liked what I saw defensively going small, being able to scramble and fire and rotate.”
The Rockets are rock-bottom of the Western Conference and just playing for pride at this point of the season. Their young team has promise, but the learning curve at this level is very steep.

“We’ve been starting games off pretty good, our energy’s been very good," coach Stephen Silas said after a loss to the Toronto Raptors last week. “But... the growing pains that we have are evident at (key) points of the game."
Kevin Porter Jr added, “We just couldn’t hit our shots. Even layups, we were missing wide-open bunnies, so it was one of those games where the ball wasn’t going in the hole.”
In head-to-head stats, the Clippers and the Rockets have met in 206 Regular Season games since 1970-71, with Houston claiming 124 wins compared to 82 for Los Angeles. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in May 2021, with the Rockets winning 122-115 at home thanks to 20 points each from Kelly Olynyk and Jae’Sean Tate.
