2022/23 Spanish La Liga
Matchday 23
UD Almería v FC Barcelona
Power Horse Stadium
Almería, Spain
Sunday, 26 February 2023
Kick-off is at 19h30
UD Almeria will square off with log leaders FC Barcelona in a
La Liga match at the Power Horse Stadium on February 26.
Current Form
The White and Reds suffered a 6-2 defeat to UD Almeria away on February 17 and they are now winless in their last three matches in the league.
Almeria lost to Real Betis in their last game at home and the defeat ended their three-match unbeaten run at the Power Horse Stadium.
On the other hand, Barcelona emerged as 2-0 winners over Cadiz CF at home on February 19 as they stretched their unbeaten run to 13 matches in La Liga.
Barca are also enjoying a six-match unbeaten run on the road having recorded six successive victories as the visitors.
What Is At Stake
Almeria are currently placed 16th on the league standings - two points above the relegation zone and they will be desperate to avoid a defeat against Barcelona.
Barca remain the favourites to win this season's La Liga title contenders and they look unstoppable at the moment based on their current form.
Xavi Hernandez's side is eight points clear at the top of the league standings with defending champions Real Madrid placed second on the log.
Team News
Almeria have no suspension and injury concerns coming into this game, but Iñigo Eguaras, César de la Hoz, Sergio Akiem and Largie Ramazani are all one yellow card away from suspension.
Meanwhile, Pedri has joined Ousmane Dembele on Barcelona's injury-list and both players are expected to miss the game against Almeria.
Key Players
El Bilal Toure is the player to watchout for in the Almeria team as the Mali international is the club's top scorer in La Liga this term with five goals.
On the other hand, Robert Lewandowski remains Barca's most dangerous player having scored the most goals (15) in the league this season including one against Cadiz on February 19.

Quotes
“I think that in general, the team has been good. The first half was very good, with dominance and chances," Xavi said after Barcelona's clash with Cadiz.
"In the second half, we slowed down and it was noticeable. We were lucky not to concede. Cadiz deserved at least a goal. They had clear chances, but Marc-Andre Ter Stegen was extraordinary.
“The point difference is nice, but the league is not over yet. We have to keep working hard.”
Head-to-Head
Barcelona secured a 2-0 win over Almeria in their last meeting in La Liga and the game was played at the Spotify Camp Nou on 5 November 2022.
Barca have never lost to White and Reds in the league having recorded 11 wins and two draws from 13 matches against Almeria.
