2023 Honda Classic will take place at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA between 23 and 26 February.
What to know about the tournament
The tournament was founded in 1972 as Jackie Gleason's Inverrary Classic and it is organised by IMG (International Management Group) which is an American global sports.
Prior to a PGA Tour schedule change in 2021 the The Honda Classic was frequently the first of the Florida events in late winter following the "West Coast Swing."
Since 1982, American Honda Motor Company (Honda) has been the title sponsor hence its name The Honda Classic.
Tournament News
The big news coming into the 2023 Honda Classic is that Ryder Cup captains Zach Johnson and Luke Donald are set to compete in this year's tournament.
The duo will be matching wits as the captains of the United States and European Ryder Cup teams respectively ahead of the 2023 Ryder Cup which is set to take place in September in Italy.

The 2023 Honda Classic field is headlined by the likes of Sungjae Im, Billy Horschel, Shane Lowry as well as defending champion Sepp Straka.
They will be part of the 144-player field and nine of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking will be among the top contenders.
Former Honda Classic winners Padraig Harrington, Rory Sabbatini and Camilo Villegas will also tee off at the PGA National Resort and Spa (Champion Course).

What Is At Stake
The total tournament purse for the Honda Classic is $8.4 million, with $1.5 million going to the winner.
Furthermore, the winner of the tournament will gain Official World Golf Ranking points and also earns himself a trophy.

“I’m a golfer first, so I want to play good golf. I want to win golf tournaments, and I would love to make my team and not play," Zach Johnson said about competing in the Honda Classic.
"So that is a priority. In order to do that though, a lot of work has to be done. A lot of, you know, work in the dirt, to be cliche, has to be done. I’m looking forward to that.
"I think the beauty of where I am right now is that my body is still good and I can still go out and play a full schedule and still maintain other responsibilities. So that’s a pretty unique posture. Yeah, I’m excited for this year. I’ve done a lot of work and more to come.”
