2020-21 FA Cup

Third Round Proper (Last 64)

8-11 January 2021

Arsenal will host fellow English Premier League club Newcastle United in a third round 2020-21 FA Cup tie at Emirates Stadium on Saturday. Kick-off is at 19:30 CAT.

This will be the first meeting between the two clubs across all competitions since a league match in February last year. The Gunners ran out comfortable 4-0 winners in North London on the day with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe. Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette on target for the hosts.

Arsenal are record 14-time FA Cup champions, having also reached a record 21 finals in England's most prestigious cup competition. The Gunners have won four titles since 2014 and have won seven straight finals since losing to Liverpool at Millennium Stadium in 2001.

Newcastle are six-time FA Cup champions but haven't won the competition since beating Manchester City 3-1 in 1955 at Wembley Stadium. The Magpies reached back-to-back finals in 1998 and 1999 but lost to Arsenal and Manchester United respectively.

Arsenal are on a six-game winning streak in the competition following their run to the title last season. Aubameyang scored a brace in last season's final as the North London club came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 in August last year. Newcastle reached the quarter-final stage in the previous campaign before going down 2-0 at home to Manchester CIty.

This will be the first FA Cup meeting between the two clubs since 2008 when Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 win on the back of an Emmanuel Adebayor brace.
