Bill Haas will be eager to add another trophy to his cabinet when he takes part in this year's American Express.

The American star has won this tournament twice in 2010 and 2015. Only Arnold Palmer (five trophies) has won more American Express titles than Haas.

Haas won by one shot over Matt Kuchar, Tim Clark, and Bubba Watson in 2010 with the tournament known as the Bob Hope Classic.

The North Carolina-born golfer, who is the son of former PGA Tour player Jay Haas, was then crowned champion in 2015 with the tournament called Humana Challenge.

Haas had shot a final round 67 for a total of 22-under-par and a one-stroke victory over five other players at the PGA West Private Clubhouse & Golf Courses.

It was the 2011 FedEx Cup champion's sixth title on the PGA Tour and it remains his last trophy as a professional golfer.

Since then Haas has struggled with injuries and he played the 2018/19 season out of the 126-150 category after an injury kept him off the course for part of the previous season.

Therefore, Haas did not earn enough to retain full Tour privileges, the first time in his career that Haas did have full status on the PGA Tour.

“I try not to sound like I’m better than that, or better than what I’m playing,” Haas said about his struggles on the PGA Tour last year.

“Golf is golf, you have to tee it up and shoot a score. It’s the best and worst part about our game. You write a score down at the end of the day and it doesn’t matter what you did in the past.

"Just trying to keep my head up. It’s been hard. There are times where you’re saying, I can’t ever do it again. But at the same time, when I practice and play, the good is still there. It’s half mental, for sure. I get uncomfortable at times.”
