Jon Rahm will be determined to maintain his great form on the PGA Tour by winning the
Players Championship for the first time.
What to know about Rahm
The Spanish star opened 2023 with wins in consecutive starts at the Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express with the latter giving him his first career lead in the FedExCup.
Nicknamed Rahmbo, Rahm nearly added a third in a row at the Farmers Insurance Open before settling for a seventh spot finish, his fourth top-10 in as many starts during the 2022-23 season.
Rahmbo's two wins mark the second time in his career with multiple victories in a season (2020).

The 28-year-old is placed at the top of the OWGR coming into the 2023 Players Championship and he is the man to beat at the TPC Sawgrass.
The last time Rahmbo was in action was at the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational where he finished 39th and he will be looking to return to winning ways in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Why Rahm is among favourites
At the Players Championship, Rahm owns two top-15 finishes in five career starts, including a T9 in 2021.
As the 54-hole leader in 2019, he closed with a final-round 76 to finish T12 and Rahmbo is now familiar with the TPC Sawgrass course.
By winning the Players Championship, Rahm would consolidate and extend his lead at the top of OWGR and 2022-23 FedEx Cup points list standings.

Rahm finished six strokes behind leader and eventual 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational winner Kurt Kitayama, who shot 68 to finish at 135, 9 under par.
“Main thing is, two swings that didn’t feel back, both of them end up in the water,’’ Rahm said.
