Round 10
Aragon Grand Prix

Alex Marquez will look to continue stepping out of the shadow of his elder brother, Marc, when the 2020 MotoGP season continues with the
Aragon Grand Prix in his home country of Spain on Sunday 18 October.
The younger Marquez brother has sustained some major criticism through the current season, with many claiming that he only has his seat in the Repsol Honda team because he is the younger brother of six-time MotoGP champion Marc.

However, Alex went a long way to refuting that last weekend when he put in a brilliant ride in tricky conditions at the French Grand Prix to come home in second place – his first podium in MotoGP and a second top-ten finish in the past three races.
“In the end I know why I am here and why I am wearing these colours, I am a two-time world champion [in Moto3 and Moto2] and I know why they promoted me to the Repsol Honda team. It was a strange situation because Lorenzo retired in the last race so it was difficult to take the decision and the team trusted me, so for that reason I have piece of mind as to why I’m am here,” said Alex Marquez.

“The criticism is good sometimes, it gives you more motivation and gives you fire to keep going and believe in yourself. I agree with the critics because the performance is not what we expect, in qualifying especially I am not as fast as I want, but as for the move… I don’t care about the critics, I know why I am here.”
Marquez finished third in the Moto2 Aragon Grand Prix in 2019, coming home behind Brad Binder (KTM) and Jorge Navarro (Speed Up). He will hope to secured a fifth straight Marquez win at the event in MotoGP, with his older brother Marc claiming victories in 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
