The business end of Euro 2020 gets underway on 12 June 2020. Until then 55 UEFA member countries will be vying it out for a spot on the 24 team short list… and the opportunity to become the all-hailed conquerors of Europe.
Unlike previous tournaments where the action was limited to just one or two hosts cities, Euro 2020 spans the entire European continent. For the first time ever 12 venues in 12 cities in 12 host nations will become a riot of football at its very best.
To the organisers UEFA, Euro 2020 is a celebration of 60 years of thrills, spills and spectacular finishes. To the fans it’s a month-long party that extends from Copenhagen in the north to Bilbao in the south. To the players it’s time to dazzle on the world stage!

How do the teams qualify for Euro 2020? What does the tournament format look like? Here’s the lowdown of what you need to know about

The Qualifiers
For the first time in the tournament’s history there are no automatic qualifiers. Every team - including those from the host countries - has to earn its place.
The bulk of the teams qualify for Euro 2020 in the conventional way. Qualifying matches have been on the go since March and continue until November.
The 20 best performing teams in the qualifiers progress through to the tournament. The remaining four teams are decided by the Nations League playoffs scheduled for March 2020.

The 24 qualifying teams are divided into six group of four teams each. The top two teams of each group, plus the four best placed sides in third place, advance to the round of 16.
Group stage and round of 16 matches are scheduled to take place in all 12 host nations, from Hungary, the Netherlands and Romania to Scotland, Ireland and Spain.
Azerbaijan, Germany, Italy and Russia are pencilled in to host the quarter finals. The semi-finals and final move to Wembley Stadium in England due to crowd capacity.
The Draw
The draw takes place in Romania on 30 November 2019. As with the 2016 tournament teams are allocated to one of four seeding pots according to ranking.
No two sides of the same group are allowed to be in the same seeding pot. A panel of UEFA administrators will be on hand to sort out any anomalies on that score.
How to Get Tickets to Euro 2020
The first round of Euro 2020 ticket applications has come and gone. However, if your team qualifies through the traditional qualifying method the ticket applications process opens after the November draw.
Fans whose teams qualify via the Nations League playoffs will have an opportunity to apply for tickets in April 2020. All applicants have to meet the criteria defined by their national football associations.

There are three categories of tickets that vary in prices according to the match status. Here’s a breakdown of what it’ll cost you in Euro to get an eyeful of the action:
Group stages and round of 16 – category 1: 125 - 185; category 2: 75 - 125; category 3: 30 - 50
Quarter finals – category 1: 125 - 225; category 2: 75 - 145; category 3: 30 - 75
Semi-finals – category 1: 595; category 2: 345; category 3: 195
Final – category 1:945; category 2: 595; category 3: 295
