The Portland Trail Blazers and the Los Angeles Clippers will have a showdown in the NBA Regular Season, with their clash set for the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon on the morning of Saturday 30 October 2021. Tip-off is at 04:00.
One of the major issues around the Trail Blazers early in this new season has been the future of Damian Lillard, though the All Star point guard has said he has no intention of leaving the franchise. “Everybody is saying what they think I'm thinking, and what they think I'm going to do, but like, I'm not leaving Portland, you know?” said Lillard.

He added, "I think a big part of [my change in mindset] was me and Chauncey's [Portland coach Chauncey Billups] conversations, and where we see things the same. I'm not going to share details of our conversations, but it's not often when I speak to people that they see what I see.”
The Clippers will continue to be without star man Kawhi Leonard, whose presence on the court has certainly been missed early in the 2021-22 campaign. However, the 30-year-old has not been a passenger for the Los Angeles team as he continues his rehab from a knee injury, attending coaching meetings and even cajoling his teammates from the sidelines.

“I think he wants to be a coach,” joked Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue. “Him being around has a great effect on our team. He’s been good just talking with everyone, making sure everyone is on the same page. He’s sitting with the coaches and always picking our brains. It’s just fun to have him around.”
In head-to-head stats, the Trail Blazers and the Clippers have met in 231 Regular Season games since 1970-71, with Portland claiming 147 wins compared to 84 for Los Angeles. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in April 2021, with the Clippers winning 113-112 away for a sixth successive victory over the Trail Blazers.
