Empoli FC will lock horns with Atalanta BC in an Italian
Serie A match at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on October 17.
The Blues suffered a 2-0 defeat to AS Roma away in their previous league match which was played on October 3.
The defeat ended Empoli's two-match unbeaten run in this competition having recorded two consecutive victories.

The Blues defeated Bologna in their last match at home in Serie A and the win ended their three-match winless run at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
Meanwhile, Atalanta succumbed to a narrow 3-2 defeat to AC Milan at home in their previous league match which was played on October 3.
As a result, the Goddess are winless in their last two matches in this competition having registered one defeat and one draw.
However, Atalanta are undefeated in their last nine matches on the road in Serie A having recorded six victories and three draws.

“Without a doubt, conceding within 30 seconds and another before half-time was a big blow, because between the two incidents we had chances to equalise,” Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini said.
“Our confidence was shaken, but it should also be noted that Milan are in very good form and they did everything right tonight. We were also unlucky in some situations, for example losing Matteo Pessina to injury.
“When you play more strikers you do it hoping they can create dangerous situations or have shots on target, but otherwise we lacked those elements."
The last meeting between Empoli and Atalanta in a league game was on 15 April 2019.
The two teams played to a 0-0 draw in a match that was played at Atalanta's home ground, Gewiss Stadium.
