Lusaka, Zambia - October 19, 2023 — Leading global online betting and gaming brand – Betway, has today announced a deal to become the Official Betting Partner of the
Zambia Super League. Betway Zambia and the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) announced their official partnership, marking a significant moment in the history of Zambian football. The signing of this collaboration designates their shared commitment to the growth, development, and prosperity of Zambian football.
The Press launch event on Thursday, October 19, 2023, and was attended by government officials, including the Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts represented by the Permanent Secretary – Chileshe Kangwa, FAZ and Zambia Premier League (ZPL) delegates, Members of the Press, and numerous other Stakeholders.
The Minister noted that the partnership holds great promise for the Zambian football community, the betting industry, and the nation in line with the New Dawn Government’s development objectives in the sector.
Key highlights of the partnership include:
- Investing in local Football through the Sponsorship of the Men’s Super League by working with FAZ’s Zambia Super League as the Official Betting Partner
- The Easy Coach Programme: which will see all Teams under FAZ access an online Coaching, Team Management and Administration courses, on demand, to help with their Team’s Training and Development
- Share the Thrill: through their digital and online platforms betway seeks to enhance the Fan Experience in Stadium and anyway Fan’s catch the games.
- Economic Impact: job creation and value addition across the value chain
- Community Development: support will also be extended to the FAZ development initiatives as well as Women’s Leagues with the view of developing football in general.

He further highlighted how the increased support for Women’s Soccer such as the recent donation of K150,000 cash to the Copper Queens, will continue. He also encouraged Coaches, Technical Staff and Administrators of Zambian football to take advantage of Betway’s upcoming Coaching Programme, namely eazi-Coach, through which coaches can take self-paced courses to enhance their skills, develop their Teams’ Players and run their businesses/Team more profitably.
