Defending Zambian Super League champions Red Arrows will target a return to winning ways on matchday 7 in a bid to put pressure on early runaway leaders ZESCO United.
Red Arrows play host to high-flying at the Nkoloma Stadium on Sunday, October 6, looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season.
The Airmen lost 3-1 to Mutondo Stars on September 29 and find themselves down in 12th place, having also dropped points in a 0-0 draw with Power Dynamos in their previous match.
Zega Mambo have opened up a five-point lead on the chasing pack after winning five of their opening six games, the most recent being a 2-0 success against Mufulira Wanderers on September 29.
Green Buffaloes are their closest challengers and will be seeking back-to-back wins for the first time in the new campaign when MUZA arrive at the Sunset Stadium on Saturday, October 5.
The Lusaka outfit moved up to second position courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Power Dynamos on September 28 which saw them halt a two-match winless run.
The Elegant Dynamites have recorded just one win from their opening six outings, but successive 2-2 draws against Forest Rangers and Zanaco lifted them up to 15th spot.
Meanwhile, Kabwe Warriors will be aiming to keep their unbeaten record intact when they visit Zanaco on Sunday, October 6.
The Railmen (3rd) are in a three-way tie with Mutondo Stars (4th) and Atletico Lusaka (5th) on nine points following their 2-2 draw against Forest Rangers on September 28.
Zanaco saw their winless run extend to five games after they played out to a 2-2 draw with MUZA on September 29 which left them languishing down in 13th spot.
Elsewhere, rock-bottom Indeni will attempt to get their season up and running against Mutondo Stars on Saturday, October 5.
The team from Ndola have just one point to show for their efforts in 2024-25 after losing five of their first six matches, with a 2-1 reverse to Lumwana Radiants on September 28 their third defeat on the spin.
Evergreen have gone unbeaten in their last five games and back-to-back wins over Mufulira Wanderers and Red Arrows took them up to fourth in the standings.
