Empoli FC will square off with AC Milan in an Italian
Serie A match at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on October 1.
The Blues secured a narrow 1-0 win over Bologna FC away in their previous league match which was played on September 17.
The win ended Empoli's six-match winless run in this competition having recorded two defeats and four draws before facing Bologna.

However, the Blues are winless in their last five home matches in Serie A having recorded two defeats and three successive draws at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
Meanwhile, Milan suffered a slender 2-1 defeat to SSC Napoli at home in their previous league match which was played on September 18.
The defeat ended Rosoneri's 22-match unbeaten run in this competition having registered seven draws and 15 wins.
Milan are undefeated in their 15 seven matches on the road in Serie A having recorded five draws and 10 victories as the visitors.

“I’m not satisfied and neither should my players be. If you play like that, you can’t lose. We only scored one goal, too little for what we created," Milan manager Stefano Pioli said.
"There is a disappointment, we shouldn’t have lost. But that’s the way it is, we will also learn from this evening. The performance was there from all points of view.”
“We lost because on two occasions we didn’t put that quality and determination we needed. We played better than Napoli. We were unbeaten, it’s a shame to lose them after such a performance.”
The last meeting between Empoli and Milan in a league game was on 12 March 2022.
Milan emerged as 1-0 winners over Empoli in a match that was played at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza which has a seating capacity of 80,018.
