Brad Binder will be keen to make history by becoming the first South African to win the
Catalan MotoGP in the history of the race.

The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider secured a podium finish at the recent 2023 Austrian MotoGP which took place on August 20 as he finished second.
Binder started on the third grid behind Francesco Bagnaia and Maverick Vinales, and he managed to secure the runner-up spot.
2022 Catalan MotoGP
The Potchefstroom-born Grand Prix motorcycle racer finished eighth at the 2022 Catalan MotoGP having started 15th on the grid.
It is also Binder's best performance in the race since he joined the MotoGP class in 2020 having previously competed in the Moto2 and Moto3.
Why Binder could win the 2023 Catalan MotoGP
The 28-year-old is currently placed fourth on the Riders' standings and he is in the battle to win the 2023 MotoGP world title.
Having finished second in the 2023 Austrian MotoGP, Binder will be confident of going one step forward by winning this weekend's Catalan MotoGP.
What did he say?
"I knew from (Saturday) that we were looking for drive grip, but I did everything I could; protect where I could and push where I could on the brakes," Binder said after the 2023 Austrian MotoGP.
"I tried to keep (Bagnaia) honest in the first half of the race, but there was a moment where the rear grip just said 'goodbye', and I knew I had to be clever and just bring the bike home."
"The team made another huge step from (Saturday to Sunday), and I could brake so much later and so much harder (in the race). We still have a bit of work to do, but I cannot thank them enough. It is awesome to be on the podium twice here in Austria and at their home Grand Prix."
