MTN Super League winners Zanaco Football Club will tomorrow host the Kitwe giants Power Dynamos at Sunset Stadium in a week 5 fixture of the MTN Super League.
This is one of the biggest games of the weekend as these are among the top five big teams in Zambian Football history and their matches are always mouthwatering.
Going into tomorrow’s match, both teams are geared as they have their key players in camp. Power boasts of having deadly wingers and strikers as well as a composed defence while the Bankers now boasts of having a youthful side that is always hungry for the ball and love to play.
Both teams are looking for their second win of the season. Having only won one game out of the four that they have played. Power has drawn three and won one while Zanaco has won one, lost two and drawn one. The bankers are looking for their first win at home.
The 2022/2023 MTN Super League champions have not beaten Zanaco in the last seven meetings. Zanaco beat them 2-1 in 2022 during the 2020/20221 season, they also beat them 2-1 during the 2021/2022 season and the rest five meetings ended in draws.
In a pre-match interview, Zanaco head coach Wedson Nyirenda expressed confidence in his team’s preparation ahead of tomorrow’s match.
"Power Dynamos is not an easy team to face, but my boys are ready. A fixture between Zanaco and Power Dynamos is always exciting, and I expect a highly competitive game tomorrow. We're aiming to secure our first home win of the season."
He added, "We’ve lost our last two games, so tomorrow’s match is crucial. A victory will boost the team's confidence and be a positive step toward achieving our goals for the season."
